About Us

The congregation of the Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate was founded by Saint Eugene Mazenod in southern France in 1816.The oblates have been serving in Pakistan since 1971.

PATRON OF MAZENOD COLLEGE

Charles Joseph Eugene de MAZENOD Charles joseph Eugene de MAZENOD was born in Aix-en-Provence, France on 01 August 1782.During the adoration of the cross on Good Friday in 1807, Eugene had a special experience of the love and goodness of Christ. He was ordained a priest on 21 December, 1811. His dream was to be “the servant and priest of the poor”. On 25 January 1816 he founded the society of the missionaries of Provence, which later was named as the Congregation of the missionary oblates of Marry Immaculate on 17 February 1826.In 1837, Eugene was named Bishop of Marseille, France. In 1847 Eugene sent the oblate missionaries to Ceylon (Sri Lanka), from where the oblates came to Pakistan on 14 February 1971.He died on 21 May 1861 in Marseille.

DONOR OF MAZENOD COLLEGE

Ms. Anne Marie Ms. Anne Marie was born in 1923 in Breslau, former East Germany, now Poland. In 1945 she came to west Germany. She finished her studies in Munster and become a teacher of German language and Biology. She lived in Borken since 1959.After her retirement Fr. Terliesner OMI took care of her. By reason of her age and infirmity Anne Marie spent her last 3 years in a home for the elderly. She was impressed by religious education and was interested in missionary work. She denoted all her savings through Fr. Terliesner OMI for the construction of Mazenod College Lahore. Anne Marie passed away on 30th January 2019.

Mazenod College is an institute created in keeping with the charism of our Congregation. It is an independent, non-political and non- profit educational institute that is committed to providing quality education to all classes of our society. We promote a culture of tolerance and harmonious coexistence in the world.

The life of our founder, St Charles Eugene de Mazenod, was changed dramatically by a deep spiritual experience at a Good Friday ceremony in 1807. He would go on to become priest, missionary, bishop, and founder of a world wide religious community called the Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate.
